David Franklin Merkerison, Jr., 56, Dearing, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on October 23, 2023.

David was born in Augusta, Georgia on February 7, 1967, grew up in Grovetown, Georgia and moved to Dearing, Georgia shortly before his marriage to Tina.  He was a carpenter by profession and a jack of most trades.  David was employed by DSM Chemical for Crawford Contracting.  He loved fishing, camping, working, supervising and spending time with family and was especially looking forward to spoiling Annalyce Randolph and Tessa Merkerison, his two unborn granddaughters.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Augustus Polk and Pauline Ford Polk and his brothers, Franklin ”Nickey” Nicholas Messer, James Messer and Peter Calamas. His survivors include his loving, devoted wife of 29 years, Tina Merkerison; his son, Lawrence Merkerison (Shelby); his daughters, Megan Randolph (Kyle) and Brandi Kamerad (Branden); his sisters, Cindy Reese and Rosa Polk Rader (Todd) and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
