Mr. David “Alan” Johnson, Jr., 42, Thomson, Georgia – Entered into eternal rest on September 26, 2021 at University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia.
Alan was born in Augusta, Georgia on September 11, 1979, grew up in Thomson, Georgia, graduated from Thomson High School and has lived in Thomson his entire life. He was Baptist by faith, was a past member of Second Baptist Church, Thomson, Georgia for 26 years under the leadership of Rev. Ron Drawdy. He is a current member of Sharon Baptist Church. Alan was an avid coon hunter, loved coaching his son in travel baseball, and loved his wife, children and family dearly.
Mr. Johnson’s survivors include his wife, Stephanie Johnson; his son, Carter Alan Johnson; his daughter, Callie Renae Johnson; his parents, David Alan Johnson, Sr. and Patricia McNeal Johnson; his sisters, Michelle Johnson Daniel (Jeff) and Heather Johnson Shelton; and his nieces and nephews, Ally Daniel, Mary Kate Daniel, Brantley Shelton and Carleigh Shelton.
A Visitation Service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home. His Funeral Service, being officiated by Rev. Andy Collins, will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Sharon Baptist Church, 6262 Cobbham Road, Appling, Georgia 30802 with the interment following at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, Thomson, Georgia. Pallbearers for the service are Jeff Daniel, George Holliman, Dennis Pickens, Tyler Luke, Jason Brooks and Russell Langham.
Per CDC requirements, the family will be observing social distancing, and masks are requested and appreciated. Due to the current national health concern, the family would appreciate phone calls, cards, texts, and e-mails.
