Daniel Nathan Crumpton
Warrenton, Georgia - Mr. Daniel Nathan Crumpton, 84, of Atlanta Hwy, entered into rest July 28, 2017.
Mr. Crumpton, a long-time resident of Warren County, was born in Claxton, Georgia and was the son of the late Alva Riska Crumpton and the late Alma Jane Mooney Crumpton. He served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1957. Mr. Crumpton worked with Continental Can many years and retired as owner and operator of Forest and Land Services. He was a faithful and devoted member of First Baptist Church of Warrenton.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Charlene Smith Crumpton; his son, Henry “Hank” Alva Crumpton (Cindy); daughters, Carla Burkey (Robert) of Mesena, GA and Holly Alma Crumpton of Savannah, GA; sister, Doris Smith of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Katie Turnbull (Scott), Nathan Ikon Crumpton, Sara Beth Shedd (Adam), Samuel Brewton Lee Crumpton, and Lucas Tucker Crumpton; and six great grandchildren, David Turnbull, Kandius Turnbull, Jasmine Turnbull, Will Turnbull, Isabella Turnbull, and Bastain Shedd. In addition to his parents, Mr. Crumpton was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 31, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Warrenton with Rev. Brandon Furr officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnson Church Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Lucas Crumpton, Billy Lott, John Martin, Jr., Larry Rachels, Adam Shedd, and Scott Turnbull. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult VII Men’s Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, Warrenton.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the funeral home and on Monday from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at First Baptist Church, Warrenton.
