Cynthia Eubanks Hobbs, 78, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on August 25, 2023.
Mrs. Hobbs was born in Augusta, Georgia to the late Cecil and Dorothy Eubanks. She was a graduate of Richmond Academy and was formally employed as a payroll clerk for Sibley Mill as well as a CDL certified long distance truck driver. She was a longtime member of Central Christian Church of Augusta. Cynthia loved traveling, mostly to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and Myrtle Beach. At the Thomson Senior Citizens Center, she enjoyed creating ceramics and crafts and her many talents also extended to sewing.
Mrs. Hobbs was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Cecilia Griffin and Margaret Flaherty.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 39 years, James Hobbs; one son, Elliott Waller (Mary Ann); two daughters, Rebecca “Becky” W. Josey (Christian) and Melanie Bennett (Dile); one brother, Cecil Morgan Eubanks, Jr.; Six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; bonus daughter, Lora Adams; and two step-sons, Scott Hobbs and Hal Hobbs.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, Georgia. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Gary Judy officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta, Georgia. Pallbearers for the service are Steven Josey, Alan Flaherty, Scott Hobbs, Hal Hobbs & Dennis Harrington. Following the services, family and friends will gather at the home of Elliott and Mary Ann Waller, 410 Kemp Drive, Augusta, GA.
