Mrs. Charlotte Walker Poss, 81, of Elberton Highway, Lincolnton, died November 24, 2019 at Pruitt Health, Washington. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 27 at 2:30 at Midway United Methodist Church, Lincolnton, with Rev. Ray Camp and Rev. Ficklen Guin officiating. Mrs. Poss, daughter of the late Arlin F. and Hilda Norman Walker was a native of Lincoln County, former director of the Lincoln County Senior Citizens’ Program and a local antiques business-owner. She was the pianist for Midway Methodist Church for many decades, an avid reader, and a garden enthusiast. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Poss; a son, Michael S. Bradford Poss; and a grandson, Thomas Taylor B. Fort. Survivors include daughters Pamela P. Norman and husband Bob of Lincolnton; Lisa P. Fort and husband Allen of Greensboro; Sheila P. Callahan and husband Kent of Vidalia; son Lance N. Poss and wife Cindy of Augusta; sister Linda W. Anthony and husband Gene of Washington; and brother Nelson N. Walker of Roswell; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends an hour before the service, from 1:30-2:30 at Midway Church. Mrs. Poss said many times that her purpose on Earth was to serve others, so she requested that friends perform a kind deed in her memory.
