Charles “Chuck” Joseph Barrow

Warrenton, GA- Mr. Charles “Chuck” Joseph Barrow, 63, of Stoney Grove Church Road, entered into rest June 12, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Barrow, a native of Miami, Florida, was the son of Mrs. Annabella Bowman Barrow and the late William James Barrow.  Chuck served in the U.S. Army and retired as a CW3 with 21 years of service.  While in the U.S. Army, he obtained his bachelor’s degree.  After retirement, Mr. Barrow worked for Augusta Transportation as a diesel mechanic.  He was a member of Second Chance Independent Church of Thomson.  Chuck can be described as a “Family Man”; everything he did involved his family.  He also loved to read and put puzzles together.  You could often find Chuck sneaking a trip to 2nd and Charles to restock on books to read.  Mr. Barrow traveled the world in the Army and after his retirement, he continued to travel when time permitted. 

Left behind to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 42 years, Ute Stimmler Barrow; daughter, Jennifer Foraker (Houston) of Thomson; two sons, Timothy A. Barrow (Katherine) of Thomson and Eric J. Barrow (Nikki) of Warrenton; sixteen grandchildren; his mother, Annabella Bowman Barrow; four brothers and one sister and a host of other family, church family and friends he dearly loved.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Second Chance Independent Church with Rev. Charles E. Reese officiating. 

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
