Brenda Morris Taylor passed away on January 14, 2022, at University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia at the age of 80.
Brenda was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1941 to James and Christine Morris. She moved with her parents and her sisters, Sandra and Jimmie, to the Augusta, Georgia area. She later made Warrenton, Georgia her home for the remainder of her life. Brenda married James “Pete” Taylor in 1959, and they remained devoted to each other for 40 years until Pete’s death in 1999. Her first job was in 1959 working as a secretary for J. Cecil Davis, Attorney-at-Law in Warrenton. Brenda later became a court reporter for the Toombs Judicial Circuit in the mid-eighties and was able to continue working part-time at the job she loved until November of 2021. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Warrenton, where she taught the Laura Lee Sunday School Class. Brenda was also the Senior Adult Director as well as the Chairman of the Memorabilia Committee. Music was one of her greatest passions. While serving at First Baptist Church Warrenton, she sang in the choir as well as being a member of the trio “Heaven Sent”, directed the Children’s Choir for many years, spent several years working with the Rainbow Connection Youth Choir, and going on mission trips over a large part of the country. As much as Brenda loved her friends and family, she positively adored her dog, Taylor. He was loyal companion to her for over 13 years.
Mrs. Taylor is preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings. Her survivors include her daughter, Robin Taylor; her son-in-law, David Deegan and her nephews, David Jones and Jamie Jones.
