Mr. Bonnell Lester “Bo” Jenkins, 92, of Wrightsboro Rd., Thomson, GA went to be with Our Lord and Savior on May 28, 2022 at his residence. What a joyous day for him in Heaven.  

Bo Jenkins was born to the late Walter Jenkins and the late Cathleen Odom Jenkins on November 28, 1929. He was a member of Harmony Methodist Church, Millhaven, GA. Mr. Jenkins served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked 47 years in the field of road construction, as a foreman of his own crew and later at jobs working as a Superintendent. Mr. Jenkins worked primarily on interstate construction, working for Southeastern Hwy Contractors of Gainesville, GA until his retirement in 1999 at the age of 70. He was a devoted husband and best friend to his wife, Jo Helen for over 69 years, their anniversary would be on June 6th. Mr. Jenkins was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved hard work, loving and taking care of family and spending time with others and most of all his grandbabies.  Mr. Jenkins was an avid sports fan especially Patriots Football and he hosted the best Super bowl parties ever. He also enjoyed cheering on all his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Mr. Jenkins loved dogs, fishing, NASCAR, growing grass, cutting grass, growing trees and red roses!  He worked tirelessly to be successful at everything he did. As his health began to falter this past year, he joined his wife and also became an avid birdwatcher. His kindness and love of life was infectious and he will be deeply missed by his large family, his friends, his birds and his overly affectionate dog, Brady.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Jo Helen Norris Jenkins; children, Bonnie Starling, Bonnell Lester Jenkins, Jr. (Rebecca), Deborah Mann (Russell), Charles Brett Jenkins (Amanda), Susan Pickard (Daryl), Bryan Mark Jenkins (Becky), Bradley Christopher Jenkins (Lauren); daughter-in-law, Nancy Jenkins; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and several devoted nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jenkins was predeceased by a beloved son, Blaine Jenkins, beloved daughter, Katrina Pentecost; son-in-laws, Doug Pentecost and Ralph Starling; brother, E.K. Jenkins, and sisters, Grace White, Margaret Watson, Sue Nell Williams, and Edell Oliver.   

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Bonnell Lester Jenkins, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Scott Jenkins, Nicholas Mann, Brett Allen Jenkins, BJ Thompson, Patrick Lunceford, Brenton Phillips, Christopher Tricas and Jason Hawkins. Honorary pallbearers will be: Chad Norris, Craig Norris and Dylan Grzybowski.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
