Mr. Bobby Joe Saggus, 78 of Martin St., Lincolnton, Ga. entered into rest on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 2:30 pm at Bethany United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 pm until the hour of the service in the church fellowship hall.
Mr. Saggus, son of the late Robert Alvin and Lizzie Wilson Saggus, was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. He retired from Mayfair Mills as a supervisor. Following retirement, he was employed by Spratlin Hardware. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church where he served as Trustee and was member of the Adult Sunday School class. Mr. Bobby loved spending time with his family and watching sporting events of all kinds. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Evelyn Saggus, Mary Sisson, Sadie Pearson and brothers John Saggus, Ray Saggus, Jack Saggus and Aytch Saggus.
Survivors include his wife Carol Jackson Saggus, sons Alvin Saggus and Bobby Joe “Bubba” Saggus, Jr.; daughter Fran S. Spratlin and husband Marcus all of Lincolnton; sisters Virginia S. Aycock of Lincolnton and Patricia S. Phillips and husband Gene of Catula, Ga; grandchildren Megan Goolsby and husband Wilkes, Madison Evans, Mason Saggus, Ward Spratlin, Caroline Spratlin, and great-grandchildren Carrington Goolsby and Lylah Evans and many nieces and nephews.
