Belinda Barksdale-Anderson, a loving, friendly, and creative woman, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2023, in Augusta, Georgia. Born on October 13, 1964, in Lincolnton, Georgia, Belinda touched the lives of many with her kind-hearted spirit and artistic talents.
Belinda was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and O'Deaner Barksdale; sister, Florann Jones; brothers, Johnny Frank Barksdale and Larry Barksdale; beloved niece and nephew, Telly and Terra Barksdale; and mother-in-law, Darlene Anderson. She leaves behind a loving husband, Darron Anderson; daughters, Lakeisha Hemphill and husband, Anthony, and Lashonda Anderson; sisters, Sarah Murray, Augusta, Geraldine Harling, Augusta, Mary Barksdale and husband, Roger, of Washington, and Shelley Barksdale of Washington; sister in law, Roberta Norman, of Washington; brothers in law, Barry Anderson and wife Rena, Robert Anderson and wife, Jackie, Haven Anderson and wife, Denise, all of Elberton, and Jesse Jones of Athens; and grandchildren, Omahd Hemphill and Amire Hemphill, both of Athens, Ar'Mani Anderson and Da'Naria Stewart, both of Washington. Belinda will be dearly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Belinda was educated in the Wilkes County school system and later found her passion in working with textiles. She was a dedicated employee of Hollander Home Furnishings, where she worked as a garnet operator and seamstress for many years until her health failed. A woman of strong faith, Belinda accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was a devoted member of New Ford Baptist Church in Danburg, Georgia.
Throughout her life, Belinda was known for her love of crafts, sewing, and watching her favorite shows, "My 600lb Life" and "Dr. Pimple Popper." Her warm presence and genuine care for others made her a beloved figure in her community. Always one to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word, Belinda's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Funeral services for Belinda Barksdale-Anderson will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 1 pm at New Ford Baptist Church with Reverend James White officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Belinda's body will lie in state in the church one hour prior to the services.
As we remember Belinda's life and cherish her memories, let us celebrate the love, friendship, and creativity she shared with us all. May her spirit continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know her.
