Barbara Gunn, 83, entered into eternal rest on November 4, 2021 at Warrenton Health Rehabilitation.
Barbara was born in Warrenton, Georgia on December 13, 1937, and has been a lifelong resident of Warrenton. She was a faithful member of Warrenton First United Methodist Church. Barbara was a 1956 graduate of Warrenton High School. She worked 12 years for the Warren County Extension Service, was a teller for 30 plus years at Citizens Bank, and for over 40 years made the best popcorn and “mixed” sodas at the historic Knox Theatre. Barbara, who had a heart of gold, loved her family and friends unconditionally. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Grogan Gunn, her mother, Octavia Bohler Gunn and her sister, Helen Cason (Robert, deceased). Her survivors include her brother Charles Gunn (Faye, deceased) of Warrenton; her sister, Jerry Usry (Wayne, deceased) of Warrenton; nieces Cindy Cason, Tracy Usry, Tami Burnley and Sharon Ball, and nephews, Chuck Cason, Derrick Usry and David Gunn; her great nieces, Sabrina Swain, Casey Rae Gunn, Blaire Ball and Ansley Ball; her great nephews, Chris Cason, Charles Cason, Travis Gunn, Dylan, Gunn, Ridge Gunn, Ryan Usry, William D.J. Burnley, Stefen Usry and Dalton Usry; her great great nieces, Gracie Irby and Landri Faye Gunn; her great great nephews, Robert Cason, Jase Gunn, Jarrett Gunn; Jacob Irby, Jackson Swain and Cason Swain; and her great great great nephew, Lukas Hadden.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia 30824 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service held on Monday, November 8, 2021, at the Johnson Methodist Church Cemetery, 2815 Gibson Highway, Warrenton, Georgia 30828 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Sandra Leightner will officiate, Charles Gunn will deliver the eulogy, and Chuck Cason will sing.
