Mr. Putnam was born in Saginaw, Michigan and was the son of the late William F. Putnam, Sr. and the late Esther Scherzer Putnam. He was retired from Civil Service as a Tech Specialist after 28 years and was a Lutheran by faith.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
