Mr. William Samenko, Jr., 83 of Savannah Lakes Village, entered into rest on Saturday,  June 27th at Petra Health and Rehab, McCormick. Mr. Samenko, a native of Brooklyn, NY,  had  served in the U.S. Navy as an aerial photographer during the Korean Conflict.  His military service led him into an interesting career which began as serving as the photographic supervisor for the Port of NY Authority where he helped map the NY State Thruway and worked on the original mapping of the World Trade Center. Afterwards, he worked at Eastman Kodak Company in a variety of capacities including Regional Sales Manager for the Eastern Region prior to retirement. Following retirement, he  became CEO and President of Meteor Photo & Imaging in 1990 and retired in 1995. He enjoyed his retirement golfing, taking photographs, painting, and doing beautiful stained glass works but might be most remembered for over 250 beer and wine glasses that he painted for people in Savannah Lakes Village with their favorite cartoon character. Surviving are his wife, Ann; daughter, Marianne, nephews and niece, John, Bill, Wally, Rick and Karen and many great nieces and nephews. The funeral will be private.
