William Joel "Joey" Carter, 62, Dearing, Georgia, fell asleep in death on November 30, 2024.

He was born in Augusta, Georgia on February 26, 1962, grew up in Appling, Georgia.  William was a skilled carpenter by trade, enjoyed outdoors, hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Joey was the son of the late James and Anna Carter.  He is survived by Linda "Susan" Carter, wife of 35 years; his children, Daniel Carter (Megan), Joseph Carter (Christina), Erica Carter (Michael Doty); his grandchildren, Aiden Carter, Hanna Carter, Ava Carter and a new arrival expected in April and his siblings, Dianne Lowman (Dennis), Harold Carter (Susan), Allen Carter (Dee), Jeannie Whitaker (James) and Sandra Orozco (Demian).

The family will receive friends at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with his service, being officiated by Wade Starrett, in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 3:00 p.m.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family's personal guestbook.
