William Floyd Dawkins

Dr. Dawkins, son of the late F.H. and Elizabeth Bunch Dawkins, was a native of Richmond County, Ga. He was raised in Lincoln County and was a 1964 graduate of Lincolnton High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Georgia. Then, he received a Master's Degree in Reading from Augusta College. Later, he received an Ed.S and Ed.D from the University of Georgia while employed as an academic tutor for the UGA Athletic Dept. Most recently, Dr. Dawkins retired from the Dalton High School where he had served as a special education teacher. Also, he had taught at Dalton College. Dr. Dawkins took an active role in his church, St. Mark's Episcopal of Dalton. He was also active in the Artistic Civic Theater, Dalton.
