Willene Hinson Josey, 90, Thomson, Georgia, entered into rest on May 23, 2024.

Willene was born in Sumter, South Carolina on August 17, 1933, grew up in Sumter, S.C. and Appling, GA before moving to Thomson. She was Christian by faith and a member of Marshall Baptist Church. Willene enjoyed painting pottery, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. Josey, Sr.; her parents, William Hinson and Erline Watts Hinson; her sons, Jimmy Josey and Herbert Allen Josey, Jr. and her daughter, Lucille Gwynette Hollis.  Willene's survivors include her sister, Frances Degarmo; her grandchildren, Lynn Hollis, Lucy Reese, Lilly Hollis, Lora Hollis (Lloyd), Lisa Mims and Herbert Allen Josey, III and her great grandchildren, A. J, Aungelle, Renee, Kaylee, Dustin, Jossey and Aaron.

Her graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, 4501 Wrightsboro Road, Grovetown, Georgia 30813, being officiated by Rev.
