Mrs. Wanda Cody McCurley, age 81 of Carnesville, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the home of her son, surrounded by her family.

The daughter of the late Dorsey and Zumaline Garland, she was born January 7, 1943 in Stephens County, Georgia. She retired with many years of service from Coats America as a secretary. She was a precious loving wife, mother and sister and enjoyed fishing and camping with family and friends. She loved her Lord and Savior, had a steadfast faith in God and you could see Jesus in her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Nicholas "Nicky" Garland.  She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gene McCurley; sons, David Cody (Tracy) and Brian Cody (Lisa) of Thomson; sister, Debra Akin of Carnesville; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Kathryn McCurley, Larry and Martha McFarlin, Freddie and Gloria Robinson and George Westmoreland, all of Toccoa.
