Wanda Elizabeth Buckner

Wanda Elizabeth Buckner, a woman of kindness and selflessness, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, in Augusta, GA. Born on August 14, 1969, in Asheville, NC, Wanda's early years in the mountains of Hendersonville shaped her into the most caring mother, friend, and family member anyone could ever hope to know. Her nurturing spirit touched all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her throughout her 55 years of life. Wanda's journey led her to the Wilkes Taliaferro area at the age of 16, where she would go on to create a life filled with love, joy, and an unwavering dedication to her family. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Shane Hopkins and his wife Shanise of Augusta, and Corey Hopkins of Rayle; her daughters, Sandy Lynn Cape and her husband Lee Cape III of Rayle, and Lila Hopkins. Wanda's love extended to her brother, Edward Buckner, and sister, Donna Buckner, both residing in North Carolina. Her legacy continues through her 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who will carry the warmth of her love for generations to come. Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David L. Hopkins, with whom she shared a profound and enduring bond. A woman of many talents, Wanda once owned a lawn care business, managed a dog grooming venture, and worked as a veterinarian assistant. Her work ethic was unmatched; she worked tirelessly to provide for her family. Wanda and her late husband David found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often spending time with friends and shooting pool. Her caring nature was evident in everything she did, as she consistently put the needs of others before her own. Wanda's ability to avoid conflict and foster peace made her a cherished presence in the lives of many. She had a heart that knew no bounds, and her generosity of spirit was genuinely remarkable.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at 3pm at Resthaven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2:30pm at Beggs Funeral Home, 200 May Ave. , Lincolnton.
