Walton Hardin

Mr. Hardin was the son of the late Lena Walton Hardin and the late Henry Grady Hardin of Wilkes County. Survivors include his son Walton (Chip) Hardin, Jr. and daughter in law Debbie, his daughter Joni L. Hardin, and his son Ken Hardin and daughter in law Claudia, along with several cousins including Garland Hendricks of Kinston, North Carolina, James Roy Smith, Jr., of Charleston, South Carolina and Garland Darracott of Rayle. He was a veteran who served in the Eighth Air Force in World War II, a patriot who proudly supported his country. He was awarded the distinquished flying cross in 1944. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia's School of Business, Stetson University Law School and Duke University Law School. He was a retired lawyer, a member of Bethel Methodist Church, the Washington Rotary Club, the State Bar of Georgia, the Toombs Circuit Bar Association, and the Wilkes County Cattlemen's Association. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bethel Methodist Church in Washington.

The family will recieve friends on Friday at the church from 1pm until the hour of the service.
