W. C. Land

W. C. Land Warrenton, GA-Mr. William Claude "W.C." Land, 86, of N. Gibson Street entered into rest June 26, 2015 at the VA Medical Center. Mr. Land was a native of Warren County, GA and the son of the late Otis Land and the late Beatrice McGahee Land. He worked for Sumter Builders as a Lineman and retired  from Thomson Company as a cutter. Mr. Land was a Baptist by faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Waller Land; brothers, Robert Land, Bud Land; and sister, Joyce Land Burton. Survivors include his sons, Gene Craig Land of Carey, NC, William Chris Land (Cathy) of Warrenton, GA, John Ricky Land of Whiteville, NC; brother, John Land (Jeanette) of Thomson, GA; sister, Annie Florence Burton of Dearing, GA; sister-in-law, Shelby Land of Bluffton, SC; grandchildren,  Nicole Land, Christopher Allen Land and William Clint Land; great grandchild, Haley Land. Graveside services will be held at  3 o'clock, p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Mt. Beulah Baptist  Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the Warren County EMS. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, Georgia is in charge.
