Virginia Durham Smith Retired Bellsouth Thomson, Ga. -Mrs. Virginia Durham Smith, 83 of Michael St. entered into rest November 14, 2009. She was the beloved wife of Thomas A. "Billy" Smith. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM , Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Reese officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Smith was born in Warren County but lived in Thomson most of her life. She was the daughter of the late William Durham and the late Eula Belle Thompson Durham. Mrs. Smith was retired from Bellsouth after 37 years of service. She was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxilary of the Thomson Moose Lodge. Survivors include her husband, Thomas A. "Billy" Smith of Thomson; son, Tommy Smith and wife Debbie of Gibson; daughter, Sandra Godwin and husband John of Thomson; parented grandchild, Josh Smith ( Shana); her other grandchildren, Angela Usry (Nicky), Amanda Wheeler (Roy), Michael Washam and eight great-grandchildren.
