Ms. Virginia Nell LaMastus, 79, entered into rest January 25, 2017.
Ms. LaMastus was born in Memphis, TN to the late Durward Odell LaMastus and the late Eryne Mae Allen LaMastus. During her lifetime she lived in many places having been a military wife. She resided in Cincinnati, OH and St. John Towers, Augusta, GA before moving to Dearing about 11 years ago. Ms. LaMastus was an ordained non-denominational minister, a Reiki Master, a Certified Nursing Assistant, accountant, and artist – having taught art at Gertrude Art Institute. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and a Rainbow Girl. Ms. LaMastus was a member of Fort Creek Baptist Church in Dearing, GA. In addition to her parents, Ms. LaMastus was predeceased by her son, Charles (Chuck) Chapel.
Survivors include her son, Tom Chapel (Louanna) of Dearing, GA; daughter-in-law, Robbie Chapel; sisters, Monica L. LaMastus of LaGrange, NC, Kathleen LaMastus Seay of Mt. Washington, KY, Christy LaMastus Smith (Horace) of LaGrange, NC, and Betty LaMastus Sanders (Roy) of Thyatira, MS; cousin, Billie Cockes; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4 o'clock p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Fort Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Martin and Dr. Tim Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
