Martinez, GA-Violet Blanchard Sparks went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2013. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 in the Chapel at Warren Baptist Church, 3203 Washington Road, Augusta, Georgia with Rev. Dave Dillard and Rev. Bill Bufton officiating. Burial will follow in Sallie Hill Cemetery, Warrenton, Georgia. Mrs. Sparks was the beloved daughter of the late Dr. And Mrs. Pierce Gordon Blanchard. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Francis Linton Sparks, Jr., and her daughter, Vicki Lyn Sparks. Mrs. Sparks is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Sparks Connell and her son, Francis Linton Sparks, III (Bubba), two sisters, Louise Blanchard Bennett and Carole Blanchard Davis and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sparks retired from The CSRA Planning & Development Commission in 1993. She was a member of Warren Baptist Church and Lady Lakers. She loved the Lord with all her heart and is remembered as a devoted mother and a warm, kind, and compassionate friend. Mrs. Sparks loved to play bridge and she enjoyed being with her family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home in Thomson, Georgia on Friday, July 12, 2013. Donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O.
