Verma (Beasley) Morris

Verma Beasley Morris Thomson, GA- Mrs. Verma Beasley Morris, 86, entered into rest August 12, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2014 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Revs. James McCollum and Bobby Renew officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown. Pallbearers will be: Jeff Benson, Adam Smelts, Kenny Adair, Michael Blanchard, Tony Milford, Brad Milford, Ralph Kitchens and Eddie Usry. Mrs. Morris was born in Appling, GA and was the daughter of the late William J. Beasley and the late Nancy Fortson Beasley. She lived in Augusta, GA for many years and moved to Thomson in 1987. Mrs. Morris worked with Woolworth for 14 years, Richmond County BOE for 7 years as a bus driver and retired as a health care worker from Eldercare, Healthmaster and Kelly after 23 years of service. She was a member of the Dearing Church of God. Survivors include her son, Keith Morris (Kathy); daughter, Judy M.Benson all of Thomson; daughter in-law, Ann Morris of Greenwood; grandchildren, Jeff Benson, Virginia M. Smelts, Alicia Morris, Audra Morris and 3 great grandchildren. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey E. Morris; a son, Phillip E. Morris and a daughter, Marsha Lynn Owens. It is the family's request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Dearing Church of God. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, GA is in charge of arrangements.
