Vera Peebles Allen

Thomson, GA - Mrs. Vera Peebles Allen, 90, entered into rest July 5, 2018.

Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late Richard Thomas Peebles and the late Lelar Phillips Peebles. She lived most of her life in Thomson, GA and was retired from Thomson Company after 30 years of service. Mrs. Allen was a charter member of Second Baptist Church where she had been very active in years past. She was always surrounded by family and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Chesley Allen.

Survivors include her children, Dennis Allen (Beverly) of Thomson, Judy A. Thigpen (Frank) of Dearing, Debbie A. Norris (Mike), Joey Allen (Sherry); and sister, Lois Tankersley all of Thomson, GA; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Second Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
