Tommie Bentley Johnson Retired Beautician Thomson, Ga. - Mrs. Tommie Bentley Johnson, 93 of Hillcrest Dr. entered into rest November 7, 2009. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W. C. Bentley and Dr. James Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Johnson was born in Lincoln County but lived most of her life in McDuffie County, GA. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Bentley and the late Annie Mae Dozier Bentley. Mrs. Johnson was retired as owner and operator of Tommie's Beauty Shop. She was also a member of First Baptist Church, Sunshine Sunday School Class , a charter member of the Regional Medical Center Ladies Auxilary and the VFW post in Washington,GA . She was also active in WMU and taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church. Survivors include; her son-in-law, Gene Reid ; her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Avrett; niece, Gerry Clarke; two nephews, W. C. Bentley, Cleveland 'Tip" Martin; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her son, John Thomas Avrett and her daughter Billie Avrett Reid. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Family Life Center 253 Jackson St. Thomson, GA 30824 or to the charity of your choice.
