Tinnie Dove

Mrs. Tinnie Reba Wellmaker Dove,69 of Tignall passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, in Washington, Georgia. Daughter of the late Robert Ishmael and Edna Crook Wellmaker, she was born on January 7, 1957 in the Mountain community of Lincoln County where she attended Hephzibah Baptist Church while in her youth. She graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1975. Shortly afterwards, she married the love of her life, Charles Ray Dove with whom she shared 45 wonderful years until his passing in 2021 Together, they created a warm and loving home in the Beulah Community of Lincoln County. She had a zest for life that manifested in her many interests, including a passion for gardening and an appreciation for flowers. Tinnie had a talent for collecting figurines of all types, each piece representing a small story held dear to her heart.

An avid Atlanta Braves fan, Tinnie was known for her unwavering support of the team. Visitors to her home during baseball games quickly learned that, while they were welcome, their presence may not take precedence over her beloved game. She also enjoyed the simple pleasure of sipping Coca Cola from a glass bottle, a treat she often relished.

She will be greatly missed by her son, Mike Dove of Tignall; her sister, Rachel W. Thurmond; her brother, Robert Wellmaker and wife Sandra of Illinois; brother-in-law, Franklin Dove and wife Minnie; as well as her cherished nieces and nephews: Daniel Thurmond and wife Jennifer, Judy Cooke and husband Roger and Susan Courtright and husband Jason and her dog, Rosie. Each of them carries forward the memory of Tinnie, who will forever be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and love. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton.
