Timothy Gay

THOMSON, GA. - Mr. Timothy Bennett Gay, 52 husband of Tama Bolander Gay, entered into rest Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Trinity Hospice, Augusta. Mr. Gay was the son of the late Irvin and Evelyn Gay and was born in Augusta, Georgia and raised in Columbia County. He had lived in Thomson for the past 11 years. A retired trucker and heavy equipment operator he was known by the CB radio handle "Tiny." In addition to hunting and fishing Mr. Gay liked to rebuild go-carts and mini bikes, and enjoyed keeping his yard neat until his health prohibited him from doing so. He was a member of Silver Run Baptist Church in Dearing, Georgia. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Monday from the Beggs Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Pittman officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, March 14, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, a son Jessie Gay and wife, Danielle, Harlem; a daughter Amity Gay, Thomson; brothers Herman Gay and wife Ann, Thomson, Joe Gay and wife Judy, Thomson and Ronnie Gay and wife Carolyn, Dearing,; sister Ellen "Vonnie" Kitchens and husband Jeff, Harlem, and seven nieces and two nephews, and a number of "adopted" nieces and nephews.
