Thomson, GA- Mr. Thomas E. Tomlinson, 65, of McLeroy Drive entered into rest March 25, 2015.
Mr. Tomlinson was a native of Laurens County, Georgia and graduated from Laurens County High School. He served in the U. S. Army as a Military Police during Vietnam; graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and later received his Masters Degree from Columbus State University while he was employed with the Georgia State Patrol.
He lived in Thomson, Georgia and retired
as Major from the Georgia State Patrol with 35 years of service.
Mr. Tomlinson was a 30 year member of the Thomson Lion's Club, Master Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite. He was also a faithful and devoted member of Second Baptist Church. Mr. Tomlinson was preceded in death by his father, the late Edwin L. Tomlinson.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Linda B. Tomlinson; his mother, Allene Alligood Tomlinson; son, Chris Tomlinson and wife, April; daughter, Jenny Whitaker and husband, David; brother, Lynn Tomlinson and wife, Phyllis; and 4 grandchildren, Tommy, Ella, Joseph and Anna Whitaker.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery with Georgia State Patrol Honors. Honorary pallbearers will be Georgia State Patrol and all Law Enforcement.
It is the family's desire that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the The Bridge of Georgia, 109 Blaine St., Monroe, GA 30655, which is an organization to help children with Autism.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Saturday at Beggs Funeral Home.
