Thomson, Georgia- Mr. Thad Usry, 83, of Wrens Hwy. entered into rest March 14, 2013.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Grant Cantrell and Rev. Kenneth Garvin officiating.

Mr. Usry was born in Glascock County, Georgia but lived in McDuffie County most of his life. He was the son of the late Cleon C. Usry and the late Bessie McTier Usry. Mr. Usry served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a retired Crane Operator from SRS with over 42 years of service. He also enjoyed farming and raising cattle.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Peggy Anderson Usry; sons, George Usry, Wayne Usry and wife, Melody, Terry Usry and wife, DeeAnn, Donald Usry and wife, Cynthia all of Thomson; brother, Leroy Usry of Stapleton; sisters, Frankie Nelson of Augusta and Nora Griffin of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Jayme and Beth Usry, Ayme and Jason Cranford, Brooke and Josh Ogletree, Melissa and Adam Weatherford, Nichole Usry, Brett Usry, Blake Usry and Blair Usry;  great grandchildren, Callie Anne And Savannah Usry and expecting great grandchild, Lane Weatherford.

Memorials may be made to Sweetwater Baptist Church Building Fund, 1606 Wrens Hwy., Thomson, Georgia 30824.

Friends may call the residence at 2292 Wrens Hwy. Thomson, Georgia or the family will receive friends following the graveside.

Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
