Mrs. Betty Sue Moore Johnson, 87, went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, November 19 th at The Cooper House in Lincolnton. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Sue's love for the Lord Jesus Christ was evident in the grace and protection she had for her family, every day for God's glory. Sue Johnson desired for many to know and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 24 th at 2:30 p.m. at Platt's Crawford Avenue Chapel with interment following at Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Johnson was born on August 9, 1928 to Lonnie and Maggie Metts Moore. Mrs. Johnson graduated from Tubman Junior High in 1946. She married Joseph Howell Johnson, Jr. in December 1948. She faithfully stood by and supported her husband for over 50 years. Mrs. Johnson retired from Curtis Baptist Day Care. She enjoyed spending time with her family and church. Now as she praises the Lord in heaven, her legacy here will remain with all those who knew and loved her. The Lord graciously gave Sue life for eighty- three years.
Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Johnson, Jr., daughter-in-law, Karen Johnson, a sister and three brothers. She is survived by her two children, Joseph Howell Johnson, III and Susan Lee Johnson, two nephews, two nieces, 4 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.
