Biography

Mr. S. J. Elam, 80, entered into rest on April 4, 2010 at Heritage Health Care, Washington, GA. He was one of 24 children born to the late Dock and Cora Parks Elam and was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County, GA. He had been employed by wood service industry as a machine operator. Survivors include his brother, Sonny Smith Elam, Augusta; his sisters, Josie Ree "Juree" White of Lincolnton, Geneva Smalley of North Carolina, and Sallie Jo Rickerson of New Jersey; along with a host of relatives and friends. . Graveside funeral services will be conducted from Newberry Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:00am. Family and friends will assemble at the graveside.
