Shirley D. May

Thomson, GA- Mrs. Shirley May, 81, of May Rd. entered into rest December 1, 2017.

Mrs. May was born in Jefferson County, GA and was the daughter of the late Lonnie Gay and the late Lommie McTier Gay. She was a retired secretary from Fort Gordon with over 30 years of service. Mrs. May was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and an avid reader of the Bible. She loved her family, her grandchildren and her church family. She was predeceased by sons, Larry T. May and Daryl K. May.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 61 years, Leon May; son, Jonathan Leon May and daughters, Julianne Martin (Jim) and Susan May all of Thomson, GA; brother, John Robert Gay of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Ferrell and Rev. Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the May Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., Monday prior to the service at the church.
