Shirley Hogan

Miss Shirley Cooper Hogan, a cherished member of the Lincolnton, Georgia community, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 90.

Born on November 10, 1934, Shirley was the beloved daughter of Marjorie Cooper and Mosely Hogan. A lifelong resident of Lincolnton, she embodied the spirit and warmth of her hometown. She graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1951 and went on to attend the University of Georgia, where she further cultivated her love of learning and strong work ethic.

Shirley dedicated over four decades of her life to Milliken in McCormick, South Carolina, where she served with unwavering dedication and professionalism. After retiring with 43 years of service, she embraced her well-earned freedom with enthusiasm and grace.

An avid traveler, Shirley spent her retirement years exploring new places and creating treasured memories. One of her greatest joys was her time spent at Hilton Head Island, a place she returned to year after year and held close to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Marjorie and Mosely, and her dear brother, Vincent Hogan. Shirley's nurturing spirit touched the lives of many. She is survived by a large and loving extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose lives were brightened by her kindness, wisdom, and quiet strength.

Miss Shirley Cooper Hogan lived a life of integrity, curiosity, and compassion. Her presence was a steady comfort to those who knew her, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who loved her.

Her funeral is planned for Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Lincolnton Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Serving as pallbearers are Danny Aycock, Jamie Cox, Johnny Crain, Guil Mattison, Mike McCombs and Murray Remsen.
