Sarah Philpott

Sarah Griswell Philpott Augusta, GA- Mrs. Sarah G. Philpott, 88, formerly of Warrenton died October 14, 2014. Mrs. Philpott was a native of Warren County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Pottel Griswell and the late Gertrude Inez Amerson Griswell. She worked as a  seamstress with Garland Knitting Mills and was a devoted homemaker. Mrs. Philpott was a member of First Baptist Church, Warrenton. Survivors include her son, Sonny Pierce and wife, Mickey; daughter, Gay David and husband, Lester; 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Mrs. Philpott was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Horace Philpott; daughter, Joyce McDonald and son, Fred Allen Philpott. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2014 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson with Rev. Jeff Giddens officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnson Cemetery, Warrenton. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the funeral home. Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, GA is in charge of arrangements.
