Sarah Johnson McCorkle

Sarah Johnson McCorkle, 92, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on August 5, 2022.

Miss Sarah was a native of Warren County, Georgia and the daughter of the late Joe Mack Johnson and the late Ruth Neal Johnson. She worked at Foodland, Bonner's and retired from Briarwood Academy. Miss Sarah was a member of Macedonia Methodist Church and a member of the Burkhalter Chapter of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends, reading books and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, R. W. "Bill" McCorkle.

Survivors include her son, William McCorkle (Susan) of Gulf Breeze, FL; daughters, Rebecca McCorkle Brock (Jack) of Milledgeville, GA, Mary McCorkle Nutial (Scott) of Huntsville, AL and grandchildren, Andrew Brock, David Brock (Katie), Laura Nutial Cain (Luke), Linda Nutial Luczynski (Matt), and Sarah Nutial Orr (Matt); eight great grandchildren, and her favorite cousin Sara Ramos.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 9, 2022, in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. David Sisler officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
