Sara Jones Heard

Mrs. Sara Jones Heard, 95 formerly of Tignall, entered into rest on May 29th at the residence of her sister , Mrs. Ruth Jones Cantrell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 11 a.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton with Chaplain Charles Trower officiating. Interment will follow at Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery, Tignall.

Mrs. Heard, daughter of the late James and Dorsia Jones, was a native of Lincoln County, had lived in Tignall for over 60 years and had retired from Royal Manufacturing. She moved to Augusta almost 12 years ago to live with her sister, Ruth. Also, she was a member of Tabor Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Heard; brothers, H.M. Jones, Ellis Jones, Edward Jones,  Roy Jones, and sister, Alma McElravy.

Survivors include her son:

T. Mitchell Heard, Tignall

Sister: Ruth Cantrell, Augusta

Grandchildren: Marcia Phillips and Michelle Anderson.

2 great- grandchildren

Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6p.m. until 8p.m at the funeral Home.
