Sara Lieb, also known as Sara Eubanks of Double Branches Rd., Lincolnton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at the age of 81.
Born on January 26, 1945, in Augusta, Georgia, she was the beloved daughter of John Holley and Virginia Adams. Sara was the oldest of six children. She was known for her strong spirit, her thoughtful opinions, and a personality that was sometimes peculiar in the most endearing way. Those who knew her understood that she loved deeply, spoke honestly, and lived life with conviction.Sara devoted much of her life to caring for others. She served as a former nursing home administrator and private duty nurse, and she had a special love for tending to the elderly. Her work in nursing homes and private duty care reflected both her compassion and her calling. She continued in that service until her own illness no longer allowed her to do so. Her professional life was marked by kindness, patience, and a steadfast commitment to the dignity and comfort of those in her care. Education was important to Sara, and she pursued her studies with determination. She held degrees from Augusta College in nursing, English, psychology, and accounting. She was a member of Double Branches Baptist Church.Family was at the center of Sara’s life.
She was proud of all of her children and grandchildren, and she treasured every branch of her growing family. She is survived by her sons, Elliott Smith and wife Candy, Shelton Eubanks and wife Eyvonne, and Carl Eubanks and wife Sharon. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Kara Spicer and husband Mike, Levi Smith and wife Angela, Tyson Eubanks and wife Ayerl, Ross Smith and wife Lauren, Austin Eubanks, and Gideon Smith, along with nine great-grandchildren who brought her great joy; brother, Bob Holley, and her brother-in-law, Roy Stringfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Holley and Virginia Adams, her husbands, Shelton M. Eubanks and Benny Lieb, her sisters, Beth Stringfield, Carol Hooks, Susan Hutchens, and Nellie Mae Holley, and her grandsons, Marty Eubanks, Walker Smith, and Jedidiah Smith. These losses were deeply felt, yet she carried her grief with the same quiet strength that marked so much of her life.Sara was a woman of faith, family, and service, and she will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to others. Her life touched many through her work, her words, and her unwavering care for those around her.
She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, resilience, and compassion that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.The family extends special thanks to Kevin and Maryann Davis for their love and care for Sara. Their kindness was a comfort and blessing during her later years.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Double Branches Baptist Church at 11 o'clock a.m. with interment following in the church cemetery where she will be laid to rest near her grandsons that preceded her in death. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
