Salem Mitchell Carpenter

Salem Carpenter, 14, of Lincolnton, GA, beloved son of Steven and Tammy Carpenter, entered this world on August 28, 2011. On August 10, 2026, Salem ran into the loving embrace of Jesus, after a hard fought battle of mental illness. His life ended suddenly, tragically, and all too soon. 

Salem loved being outside.  Swinging, climbing trees, building forts, and digging holes were his favorite past times. He loved his family. He loved people. But, more than anything, Salem loved Jesus.

He was known as the kind, brave soul who would approach anyone and everyone he saw and ask, "Can I share the Gospel with you?" He would then recite Romans 10:9, 'If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.", his favorite verse.

Salem leaves behind two older brothers, Seth Carpenter and his wife, Mackenzie, and Silas Carpenter; an older sister, Sarah Edwards and husband, Noah; grandparents, Fred and Juanita Heard, Margie Garner, and Gene and Hope Carpenter; Aunts and Uncles, Shannon and Daniel Arnold and Jack and Joy Heard, as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and two soon-to-be nephews. 

Our arms ache for our precious boy, but our hearts rejoice that he is healed. "And, we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."  Romans 8:29

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 6pm until 8pm at First Assembly of God, 328 May Ave., Lincolnton, Ga. 30817. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 1pm at Warren Baptist Church, (@ the Warren Worship Center), 3203 Washington Rd. Augusta. Ga. His body will be cremated following the funeral service.
