Sadie (Connally) Strother

Warren County

Sadie Strother "Gramma", age 93, passed away in her home, Saturday, December 15, 2023, in Warrenton, Georgia with her family by her side.

Sadie was born and raised in Ruskin, FL.  She would come to Thomson, Georgia, to visit family, but as a teenager, she met Albert and in 1949 he went off to Florida by bus to get his special lady to bring her back to Thomson, Georgia to marry her and start their journey together.  They were married for 60 years.

Sadie was a woman of strong faith, loved God. She loved to read and travel.  She loved to help others with anything they needed, and she was the oldest member of Little Briar Creek Baptist Church, where she enjoyed working with the Children and Youth.

During her 93 years, she touched so many people.  If you were to ask anyone, she was the sweetest lady you would ever meet.  Most of all she loved her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.  She was a selfless caretaker of others and instilled good values in her children and grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family and friends.  She loved her grandchildren more than anything, if you were to ask her it was the best job she ever had.

Over the years she accomplished…

Kilpatrick Baptist Association – volunteer assisting in the office for 40 years.

One of the founding members of KBA Disaster Relief Feeding Unit

WMU – Mission Chairperson for many years.

Warren County Farm Bureau 1990 to 2021 – Woman's Chair

She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.  If you knew her, you loved her.

She was preceded in death her husband, Albert Strother; Father, Emory Connally; Mother, Sarah Connally and brother, Alfred Connally. She is survived by her Brothers, Robert Connally (Phyllis) and Tharon Connally; her sister-in-law, Lois Thornton; her children, Lester Strother (Joyce) of Thomson, Kathy Wells (late Barney "Lum"), and Bill Strother (Joy) of Warrenton; eight grandchildren, Brian Adams (Angie) of Warrenton, Bruce Strother (Lokey), Jennifer Adams, Christy Downs (Chad), Lisa Howard (Billy), Adam Ivie, Jessica Murphey (Bobby) and Josh Holley (Tara), 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 pm, Monday, December 18, 2023, at Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 2 pm at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Little and Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating.
