Ruth Weaver Adkins Bus Driver Thomson, Ga. - Mrs. Ruth Weaver Adkins, 66, of Quail Farm Road entered into rest February 10, 2010 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Smith, Rodney Dunaway and Mark Blankenbeckler officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Barry Crosby, Tommy Bailey, Ed DeLong, Rossie Bryant, Kevin Prickett, Rodney Dunaway, Otis Freeman, James Bogle, Shane Rimmer and Randie Taylor. Mrs. Adkins was a native of McDuffie County, Georgia and was the daughter of Marcia Bailey Weaver and the late Garnett W. Weaver. She was retired as a bus driver from the McDuffie County Board of Education with 25 years of service. Mrs. Adkins was also a member of the Old Frontier Church. Survivors include her mother, Marcia Bailey Weaver of Dearing, husband, Leon Adkins of Thomson, daughter, Cheryl Adkins, son, William Murphy of Covington, brother, Allen Weaver of Lincolnton, sister, Marilyn Freeman of Dearing, a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Old Frontier, P.O. Box 1714, Thomson, Georgia 30824.
