Roy Charles Newsome

Roy Charles Newsome, 69, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on December 18, 2023.

Roy was born in Munich, Germany on May 11, 1954, grew up as a military child and lived in the many countries during his father's military service and as an adult he lived most of his life in Montgomery, Alabama until settling with his family in Thomson.  He was an avid Georgia Bulldog football, enjoyed western movies, was Christian by faith and loved spending time with friends and family.  Roy earned a BA degree in science, worked with CSX Railroad as a signal maintainer and worked with Regions Bank as a computer programmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Newsome, Jr. and Gisela Weber Newsome.  His survivors include his wife Fatemah "Rose" Newsome; his daughters, Christine Maryan Newsome and Angelic Kiana Newsome; his brothers, Eddie Newsome (Cathy), Billy Newsome (Brenda) and James Newsome (Peggy) and other extended family members.
