Ronald Glenn Henson, aged 77 years, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on December 10, 2023.
He was born in South Bend, Indiana on September 22, 1946 and later moved to Evansville, Indiana where he graduated from Harrison High in 1964. Ron then attended Indiana State University, where he was a member of Beta Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, graduating in 1968 with a bachelor's degree in Business and Mathematics. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Army for three years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After his tour of duty in Vietnam, he was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he served as a drill instructor for the remainder of his enlistment.
Following his service to his country, he began a career in production management with United Technologies Corporation and spent over 40 years in the automotive industry before retirement. He was an active member of VFW Post 6841 in Lowell, Indiana. He enjoyed model trains, fishing, grilling, and playing the banjo.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, William Creed Henson and Mary Louise (Miller) Henson. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marcia Jean (Woodruff) Henson and their children; daughters Jennifer Henson Gaines (Scott) and Elizabeth Henson Hohlwein, and son Jonathan William Henson; his grandchildren, Kristyn Elizabeth Norman (Justin), Jonathan William Henson Jr., Mariyah Lynn Henson, Harrison Creed Hohlwein, Charles Edward Gaines, and Nicolas Scott Gaines (Sarah); his great-grandchildren, Jackson David Norman, and Atlas Samuel Gaines. Also surviving are; his sister, Sally Anne Olson and her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Olson, who reside in Newburgh, Indiana, and two nephews, Jay Carl Olson and Glenn Jeffrey Olson also in Indiana.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2023, at Beggs Funeral Home. His Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel, officiated by Reverend Phil Pilgrim, with his interment at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, Indiana.
