Robert W. Reese

Robert Wyman Reese, 79, Norwood, Georgia, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.  He was born on November 25, 1943, to the late Wyman Pilcher Reese and Mable Johnson Reese.

Mr. Reese, grew up in Warren County, Georgia, served his country in the National Guard from March 1964 – November 1969, after 40 years he retired from Fischbein Company formerly Inglett & Company in 2005, attended Candler School of Theology at Emory University, was licensed as a Methodist Minister and served as Pastor of Dearing United Methodist Church for 5 years and Barton Chapel United Methodist Church in Augusta Georgia for 11 years until his retirement from ministry in 2016.  Robert had a servants heart, always sought to do God's Will in his life and always had a smile.  Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, farming and flower gardening.  He was also very handy with tools and built a sunroom onto his home, that he enjoyed very much.  Robert especially loved spending time with his wife, his friends and family.

Left to cherish Robert's memory is his wife, Lawana Utley Reese of 56 years; his daughter Shannon Reeves (Ryan); his sister, Sylvia Neely (Pat); his brother, Don Reese;  Robert's grandchildren, Linzie Reeves and Hannah Reeves and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert's visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia.  His funeral service will held on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, Thomson, Georgia. Robert's service will be officiated by Rev. Mark Taylor and Bro. Rodney Cook.  Pallbearers for the service are Jordan Welch, Garrett Young, Tony Amerson, Sean Kelley, Nick Neeley and Marc Christopher, and Honorary Pallbearers are Stanley Dallas, Gregg Reese, Wendell Amerson, Ronald Blanton and Jimmy Young.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family's personal guestbook.
