Robert "Bobby" Lee Bales

Robert "Bobby" Lee Bales, 81, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on January 10, 2024.

Bobby was born in Washington, Georgia on August 6, 1942, and grew up and was a lifelong resident of Thomson, Georgia.  He was a retired truck driver and welder and owner/operator of Bales Trucking.  Bobby enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, working in his shop, trucking, spending time with Kyleigh, Whitley and his dog "Sam"; he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.  Bobby was Baptist by faith and a member of First Baptist Church Thomson.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Elizabeth Kathleen Dye; his parents, C. M. Bales, Sr. and Montine Chapman Land; his son, Keith Bales and his brothers, Wallace Land, Edward Bales and C. M. Bales, Jr.  His survivors include his daughters, Anesia Ivie (Clay Holliman) of Dearing, Georgia and Gina Miller (Allen) of McBean, Georgia; his brothers, Pete Bales (Elaine); Wayne Bales (Patsy), Hollis Land (Carol); his sister, Patsy Laden (Ben); his grandchildren, Brian Noggle, Joey Ivie, Holly Rabun (Kyle) and Rena Noggle (Donny); fifteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Beggs Funeral Home on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Brandon Furr and the Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Garden.  Pallbearers for the service are Alan Miller, Clay Holliman, Ty Poss, Joey Ivie, Brian Noggle and Jeremy Rowland.
