Mr. Robert Packard Greenfield, 82 of Bereau Dr. entered into rest on Wednesday, April 2nd at Hospice Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood. Mr. Greenfield, son of the late George and Marie Packard Greenfield, was a native of Mt. Vernon, NY. During his father's career as an outdoor writer that penned The New York Times'  "Wood, Field and Stream" column  they lived in several communities in New York and New Jersey. Following high school, he entered the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict in the submarine service. Later, he went to work with National Cash Register. While employed by NCR, he met Marilyn on Valentine's Day in 1958 and they married one year later on Valentine's Day.. Bob and Marilyn aka "The Green Machine" were avid mixed doubles tennis players for many years. They had lived in Atlanta for over twenty years then moving to to Florida before coming to Savannah Lakes almost nine years ago.  He was a member of The Lutheran Church By The Lake. He was preceded in death by his grand- daughter, Sydney Lyon Greenfield. Survivors: Wife: Marilyn Johnson Greenfield Son: Todd Packard Greenfield, and wife, Merrie Eaton Greenfield of Roswell, Ga. Daughter: Krista Dinsmore and husband, William Bradley Dinsmore of Dawsonville, Ga. Brother: Fred Greenfield, and wife, Ann of Evansville, Indiana George Greenfield and wife, Dorothy of Wayne, NJ Grandchildren: William B. "Will" Dinsmore, Nicholas Packard Greenfield, Zachary Henry Greenfield, Elijah Joseph Greenfield and Amelia Maye Greenfield A memorial service is planned for Monday, April 7th at 3p.m. at The Lutheran Church By The Lake, McCormick, SC  with Pastors Jim Kinsler and Walter Wist officiating. Military honors will be presented.
