Robert Augustus Cruikshank
Evans, GA - Mr. Robert A. Cruikshank, 91, entered into rest September 13, 2016.
Mr. Cruikshank was born in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Leo Merritt Cruikshank and the late Adaline Marguerite Brown Cruikshank. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II receiving the Purple Heart medal for injuries sustained in the war. Mr. Cruikshank also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and the VietNam Conflict again receiving numerous medals and attaining the rank of Major. He obtained a Masters Degree and taught High School in Oklahoma City, OK and retired as a Systems Analyst from Civil Service located at Tinker Air Force Base, OK in 1990. Survivors include his wife, Betty June Cruikshank; son, Robert L. Williams, III of Aiken, SC; daughters, Laura Leigh of Las Vegas, NV, Robin Cruikshank of Bentonville, AR, and Cheryl Ann Matuscak of Choctaw, OK; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 12 o'clock p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Christ The King Lutheran Church, Evans, GA with Pastor Dave Keener officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Canton, GA with full military honors.
Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
