Robert Howard Carithers, Sr.

Norwood, Georgia- Mr. Robert Howard Carithers, Sr., 81, of Cadley Rd. entered into rest December 24, 2016 at Emory Hospital.

Mr. Carithers was born in Wilkes County, GA to the late Robert E. Carithers and the late Edna J. Carithers. He lived in Dearing, GA most of his life.

Mr. Carithers retired with the United States Air Force as Chief Master Sergeant after 22 years of active duty service and Air National Guard. He was owner and operator of Carithers Electrical and Plumbing as Master Electrician and Plumber. Mr. Carithers was a member of Dearing Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his beloved pet, Pooh Bear, his faithful friend of 16 years.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Brenda Allen Carithers; his children, Julie Carithers Overstreet (Willie) all of Norwood, GA, Robert Howard Carithers, Jr. (Kathy), and Stephanie Carithers Hampton (Cliff) all of Thomson, GA; grandchildren, Lori Carithers McGinley (Chip), Geoffry Allen Henderson (Janie), Robert Heath Carithers, Cameron Blaine Hampton (Alexis), Courtney Elaine Lass (Paul), Brendon Mitchel Hampton (Alyssa); great grandchildren, Mara Michelle McGinley, Emily Shae Henderson, Charli Jane Henderson, Gabrielle Jade Lass, Christopher Palmer (Erin), Joseph Palmer; great great grandchild, Madison Palmer; brothers, Huey Carithers, Billy Carithers; sisters, Annie Ruth Clark, Linda Whitaker, Sandra Church and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special thank you to the awesome doctors, nurses and staff at Emory Hospital Midtown and Specialty Hospital Acute Facility for all the loving care and concern they gave in Dad's daily care.

Graveside services will be held at 2 o'clock p.m., Wednesday, December 28 ^th at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Brother Jimmy Bohler officiating.

Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
