Rev Robert "Bobby" Adams

Rev. Robert D. Adams, 73 of Prater Rd. entered into rest on Friday, February 9, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Goshen Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rev. Adams, son of the late Robert E. and Lois Brassel Adams, was a native of Glascock County had lived in Dearing until moving to Lincolnton in 1992. He had been employed at Uniroyal, Thomson and worked at Maner Building Supplies as a shipping supervisor for 22 years before retiring. He had served as pastor of Goshen Baptist Church a total of 36 years. In addition to his parents, his sister, Laura Reeves, preceded in him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne Myers Adams; children, Darryl Adams and wife, Rosemary of Harlem;  Vickie A. Morris and husband, Scott of Woodville; former son-in-law, Tim Simons of Woodville; Karen Thombley and husband, Nick of Smithfield, VA.; Patrick Vandiver and wife, Dee of Ft. Worth, TX.; Sidney Vandiver and wife, Micha of Key Largo, Fl.; brother, Garry Adams and wife, Drene of Rochelle, Illinois; brother-in-law, Roy Reeves of Dearing; 9 grandchildren, 3 great- grandchildren
