Rita Hightower

Ms. Marguerita "Rita" Hightower, 71 of Thomson Hwy., Lincolnton entered into rest on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at University Hospital, Augusta.

Ms. Hightower, daughter of the late James H. Pyles and Daisy Nell Evans was born in Hopkinsville, Ky. and grew up in Nortonville, Ky. She lived in Thomson before moving to the Amity Community of Lincoln County over 43 years ago. During that time, she had been employed as a clerk at Central Supermarket and Lincolnton IGA, waitress at Belle Meade Country Club and Ryans, and also worked at Milliken. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, tending to her roses and other flowers, and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Radford of Thomson, Tonya Hawkins of Thomson, and Gail Saint of Lincolnton; son, David Hightower and wife Brandie; brother, Junior Evans of Kentucky; sisters, Penny Davis and Teresa Etheridge both of Thomson; grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Jessica, Meghan, Mark, Chase, Alleya, Brian, Monica, and Makynna; 7 great- grandchildren and her pit bull, Mary Jane.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
